 Sharon S. Gupta Sharon Shefali Gupta is a Civil Servant and a writer. She graduated with English Honours from St. Stephen's College, Delhi University and also acquired a Master's Degree in English Literature from Delhi University. In 1994 she joined the prestigious All-India Civil Services. She is married and has a son. Although Sharon has tremendous responsibilities as a Government Servant, writing is her passion. Over the years her articles and short stories have appeared in newspapers and magazines. In College she was Student Editor of the in-house magazine, ‘The Stephanian’. Her short and mostly humorous write-ups have featured regularly in ‘The Times of India’ newspaper’s anecdote box on the Edit page. In 1997 she did a cover feature for ‘The Rock Street Journal’ on the US rock band No Doubt. Her short story ‘Never Say Die’ was published in the ‘Femina’ magazine a few years back. Besides writing, Sharon also sings and plays the Spanish guitar. She’s trilingual, speaking English, Hindi and French. Her Punjabi and Telugu are passable, too! Sharon’s literary career began in October 2000 with the publication of fiction historical thriller, 'Riders on the Storm'. It was a small, self-publishing effort and the work earned her rave reviews. Now, since her son has grown-up a little, she’s concentrating on her writing. She has two completed manuscripts ready for publication and another in progress. She’s confident this is just the beginning of a new and exciting chapter…in her life! |
